Two-wheeled or four-wheeled suitcase?

Among the doubts that often arise when we renew our suitcase is whether to choose two or four wheels, a feature that we must assess depending on our travel requirements. Wheeled suitcases are very comfortable to travel with, and there are those who prefer the lightness of a two-wheeled trolley while others prefer the stability of the spinner with a four-wheel mechanism. We find very different opinions on which of the two models is better, so we will begin by clarifying the advantages and disadvantages so you can assess and choose your perfect suitcase.

Two-wheeled suitcase (trolley)

The main advantage of this type of suitcase compared to the four-wheeled, is that they tend to have greater interior capacity. This is a very practical option for those who have a more energetic urge to discover the world as well as for those who frequently have to schedule business trips.

The convenience of two wheels is a plus when transporting your suitcase on the street, where there are often small steps and kerbs. However, it is important to bear in mind that if you are carrying several items of luggage, travelling on the street will be more complicated and unstable.

As a recommendation, we recommend that you opt for two wheels if you are travelling on short trips that do not require more luggage, so that ease of transport is guaranteed. A safe bet would be the Samsonite Paradiver Light convertible travel bag backpack.

The advantages:

- They are usually a little more economical

- Larger interior capacity

- Easier to move on uneven terrain such as stairs and kerbs.

Disadvantages:

- Two wheels mean that some of the weight has to be dragged.

- More cumbersome if you are carrying more luggage

Four-wheeled suitcase (spinner)

This type of suitcase is ideal for those looking for greater stability on long journeys and even when boarding the plane, where it will be easier to drag our suitcase. In addition, its main advantage is that all the weight is distributed between the four wheels, guaranteeing comfort and mobility when transporting luggage. It should be noted that the latest technology in lightweight materials makes it possible for the weight of a suitcase of the same dimensions to be the same with two as with four wheels.

As a recommendation we recommend the use of four wheels to all travelers who require a large suitcase to carry your luggage, as it is the best option to facilitate drag heavy suitcases. You can opt for the Samsonite C-lite, the American Tourister Soundbox or the Roncato Starlight 2.0.

Plus, you won't have to worry about spares as we have a service that guarantees replacement parts with ease.

Advantages:

- This system facilitates 360º rotation

- It provides greater stability by distributing the weight on its wheels.

- Ease of towing, especially with heavy suitcases of large dimensions.

- Ideal for long distance travellers

Disadvantages:

- Less interior capacity

- And more uncomfortable on uneven surfaces.

Before you choose one option or the other, answer how often you travel, what your adventures are like and your characteristics as a traveller. Now, choose your perfect suitcase and... enjoy!
