Tips and tricks to make the most of the space in your suitcase

If you're planning a getaway or a trip, you're probably thinking about how to pack your suitcase so that you can take as much as possible. Because it is true that every suitcase is full of "just in case" and the main objective is that we do not lack anything in our days of disconnection and fun. Between the search for accommodation and the cheapest flight, we tend to forget our suitcase and this often leads to last minute unforeseen events. Well, here we will try to reveal some very practical tips and tricks to make packing your suitcase a quick and easy task.

1. Plan ahead, because it never hurts to have a list.

Prioritise and think about what you need for your trip and what you can't forget. Write it down, as the urge to hurry can betray us and handwritten notes will be our best ally. If you prefer to do it digitally, you can use the Google Keep or Evernote applications, which will allow you to save your ideas and review them for future trips.

2. Be versatile with your styling

Try to pack your suitcase with basic items that can be combined and think about your outfits in advance. Also, think about the possibility of having your clothes washed at your destination, a service that is becoming more and more common nowadays in different types of accommodation.

3. Imagine you are playing tetris

That's right, try to optimise space and think that the order in which you place your clothes does matter. Place the heaviest items that tend to wrinkle the least underneath, including shoes, toiletry bags or hair care items. Continue with jeans, jackets, jumpers, T-shirts and shirts. Everything should be neatly folded to prevent your T-shirt from arriving like an accordion.

4. Prepare a simple survival kit

It's possible that you'll have to go through a lot of details and souvenirs, so make a space for them.

5. Leave some space for shopping

Fold up some plastic bags and pack a mini toiletry bag with aspirin and plasters. Don't forget, something so simple can solve more than one setback.

In addition to all of the above, we tend to neglect other tips that are equally or even more important. We are talking about punctuality and arriving at the airport on time. Try to arrive early enough to get through the security checkpoint without rushing, as on international flights it is advisable to arrive at the boarding gate 90 minutes beforehand.

Don't forget that if you are travelling with friends or a partner, you can share luggage and check-in costs if your trip requires more luggage. Be proactive and check in online rather than at the airport to save a little extra.

And now, choose the right suitcase for your trip and enjoy the experience!
