¿Sabes cuáles son los objetos más olvidados en nuestra maleta?

With the arrival of June we are sure you are planning your well-deserved summer holidays. At SusMaletas we have decided to give you a hand with the preparations beforehand, because no matter how hard we try, we always leave something behind. Although we don't usually pack light, we've all experienced on more than one occasion the unsettling feeling that we've forgotten something important when we close the door at home.

What's the remedy? The best thing to do is to make a list of all the essentials, and nowadays, smartphones can be our best allies when it comes to packing our suitcase. Among the best-known applications are Travel List, which has a very efficient alarm system, especially for the most absent-minded travellers. Another application is Packing Pro, with pre-designed packing lists for each traveller and their destination. All help is welcome when we go on holiday, but the truth is that even the most far-sighted traveller tends to forget something. This is what the statistics tell us.

Toothbrush and toothpaste in first place

Undoubtedly, the king of the forgotten items in our travel toiletry bag, along with deodorant. Luckily, there is an easy solution to this frequent oversight, as it can be easily purchased in various shops or even in the accommodation itself.

Silver medal for pyjamas

Wherever we go, we need our pyjamas, yet we tend to forget them all too easily. We wear many more outfits than we need to, but we don't always fall into the sleeping garments. In summer this is not a big problem, but if we travel in winter to Nordic countries, forgetfulness can become a major problem.

Thirdly, the mobile phone charger

We won't leave our mobile phone behind, but forgetting the charger is our daily bread. We tend to use it the moments before our trip, leaving it plugged in. This is the main reason for this common oversight, although luckily a colleague will be able to lend us one. It won't be so easy to find a solution if you leave your tablet or camera charger at home.

Fourth on the list, the beach towel

We know we're going to the beach and yet we still leave it in the drawer. Surely more than one, and two, have gone to the beach with the towels from the hotel or flat. The reason for such forgetfulness is that it is a second necessity that also takes up a considerable amount of space in our suitcase. Next in line are sunglasses or headphones, items that we don't use on a daily basis but which are very useful at certain times.

So what are our tips and advice?

- Try to pack your suitcase without rushing.

- Try to collect those toiletries that you still need to use that morning before you leave - Write a checklist and see what you have to pack.

- Write a checklist and cross it off as you pack your suitcase

- Put a post-it note on the door of the house with those items that you tend to forget.

- Check, above all, that you have included your identification documents as well as your accommodation booking or boarding check-in.

Either way, leave your worries at home and get yourself in the mood for a well-deserved holiday. Have a good trip!
